Figure 2 depicts how open educational resources help to create activities for Mathematics and Computer Science courses offered at York College, the City University of New York (CUNY). Open pedagogy refers to “collaborative teaching and learning practices that help advance a culture of active learning through Open Educational Resources (OER)” (Brooklyn College Library, 2020). Here, we presented OER-enabled pedagogy prompts and worked examples that engage students in active learning. The goal is to use the affordable resources, namely, open copyright resources through the Creative Commons. Additionally, faculty could lead students to create resources that can be distributed, revised, remixed and openly shared in the CUNY community and beyond.
