Summer Intensive English Language Program

Content is being updated (Summer 2026)

The Summer Intensive English Language Program (SIELP) has run since 2008 (except for 2020) as part of the Hostos College Now program. The program offers the opportunity for high school students to earn credit as undergraduates matriculated during the summer semester, developing both their English language skills and college readiness through content-based learning including the U.S. American History. SIELP consists of three hours of structured literacy activities four days a week, two sessions of content-based computer lab each week, two sessions of college awareness each week, one hour of Physical Education each day, and weekly field trips.
