“On the Equality of the Sexes” was written by Judith Sargent Murray. This edition is prepared based on the text's first publication, in popular The Massachusetts Magazine in 1790. Notably, Murray later expanded the essay for her collection The Gleaner: A Miscellaneous Production in 1798.
