Week 1, September 9th

Topic: Introduction to the Course!

Assignments:

  • Sign up for a Manifold Reader Account and Create an Introduction Post (below)
  • Sign up for the Art of the United States Reading Group
  • Sign up for a week to present formal analysis assignment, Due Date: Friday, Sept 20

To Annotate on Manifold, you will need to complete the two first tasks above: making a Manifold Reader Account (doesn't matter to me what email you use!) and sign up for our reading group.

Once you've done those two things, you can make your first annotation!

First highlight something on this page. You should see something that looks like this:

Then you should scroll to "Annotate" and click on that. Once you do you will see a box that looks like this:

Be sure that the part that says reading group says "Art of the United States" and not "Private" - otherwise I won't see your comment and you will not get credit!

Now, finally, here is what I would like you to write about for your first Manifold Annotation:

Welcome to the course on the Art of the United States! To kick off our journey together, please introduce yourself to your fellow classmates. In your introduction, please include:

  1. Your name and pronouns.
  2. A little bit about yourself.
  3. What you are most excited about this year.
  4. What you are most concerned about this year.

I look forward to getting to know you better and creating a supportive and engaging learning environment together!
