Designed as a refuge from the city, Levittown provided upward mobility to Whites fleeing NYC post-WWII. The neighborhood’s long history and its changing demographics are reflected in the two restaurants analyzed by a student curious about how culture influences work life in adjacent Halal and Pizza joints.
