Who needs sleep documentary by Haskel Wexler, it looks at film crews routinely working 15 to 18 hour days. While this film was focusing on the plight of camera people. These conditions were also happening across the film industry. This was made in memory of Brent Weissman, an IATSE cameraman who worked 19 hour days and died in a car crash. His death would catalyze in a movement within the film industry to reduce the working day. After losing the 8 hour work day, turnaround time would be a big issue as it would become normal for people to work an excess of 10 hour workdays. The anger, stress, working long hours would fuel later organizing efforts.
