Aprenderé
Full description
Released between 1959 and 1961 on the Cuban Maype label. This track might be considered "conga-adjacent" or "stylized conga;" it sounds like conscious attempt by a Havana-based group to emulate and evoke conga santiaguera. The lyrics mention Santiago, Oriente, and "Cocuyé." The latter term has often been employed by Habaneros as metonym for Oriente and its carnival traditions.
