Send me the publication data, please, if it has appeared. My partial literary news: eight of my poems will appear in The Best of the Best, a book being edited by Margaret Burroughs (about 25 poets). Since you know more about my literary life than anybody, you might want to know the barest outline of my recent tragedy: my son James was badly beaten by 3 cops in San Diego, Calif., in a park, resulting in a 2-inch skull fracture. The police report, which I have, leaves nothing but racism as the motive. Brooding over the event later, in Niles, Michigan, "Jimmy Poo," as you might remember him, grown older, committed suicide, shooting himself to death. Since I have almost no faith in the law, you can imagine how I have felt recently--and how my poetry of the future might be affected. Could write more about it, but can't.
