Read my booklet Reaching for Mumia: 16 Haiku & "The Ballad of Abu-Jamal." •  9 April: Universite de Rennes 2’s "Printemps Faulkner" celebration, with Ernest Gaines and Richard Ford. My "For Malcolm X, U .S .A." was read on my behalf · by Wilhelmina; Montgomery.  22 Sept: Tigh Johnny's Irish Pub, Paris, with Bill Strangmeyer & Vivienne Vermes  19 Oct.: Festival de Lille, "Black America" session, with Chansse Evans, Jake Lamar, Julia Wright, Mark Reid, Eric Fassin, Noah Howard (saxophonist)  6 Nov.: "Les Continents de la Parole" festival, Toulouse. Long videotaped reading at Universite de Toulouse-le Mirail with Dr. Jean-Jacques Vincent as saxophonist, French versions read by Yves Le Pellec & Anthony Suter.  9 Nov.: Forum des Cordeliers, Toulouse, with Tuareg, Sardinian, Italian, French, and other poets, singers , and dancers (all videotaped by Godelieve Simons of Brussels). •  10 Nov.: La Grotte de Lombrives, Ussat-les-Bains (reputedly the largest cave in the world); read "prehistoric" jazz haiku & "The Ballad of Abu-Jamal."  14 Nov.: La Sorbonne, Centre Malher with several of the 19 Oct. James Emanuel's 1996 annual "Notes on Literary Happenings of the Year." He included these "Notes" of his literary engagements in his Christmas Cards between 1990 and 2006.
