Cher James,

You beat me too it. I was writing you
when your letter arrived, giving the
good and the bad news. Too bad I had
to leave so early and miss out on your
"Jazz Haiku." What a drag for me but
I'm happy with your good news, selling
"Whole Grain"s and other books of poems.
Straight ahead my friend.

None the less your opening words/poem for
Martin Luther King I felt deeply and it was
about this I was writing to you. Thanks for
pulling my coat again. In fact bros James
of all our fine black men/poets you take the
cake. It's you I'd like to write like when I
get big. With your depth, precision, insight and
sense of identity there are the components
of hero workshop to me anyhow.

Again I say Happy New Years and pray
that your muse continues to bestow her grace
on you worthy constituent.

    Sincerely,
    love,
    Bibbs

P.S.
Only the 4 green photos are mine
in the little Jazz book.
