The results of this effort will be included in an essay for presentation in March, 1992 at a conference at Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri, on the "Black Heartland, The Growth and Development of African-American Culture in the Middle West." The questionnaire consists of six questions, which you may answer on the questionnaire sheet itself, or on a separate page(s), whichever is easier for you. I deeply appreciate your kindness in considering this request. I would be happy to send you a copy of the essay in late 1991, or early 1992, if you will indicate your interest in having a copy by your return correspondence. Very sincerely, Julius E.
