Mapping Harlem Hospitality in Montmartre, Paris
Full description
The year is 1920, and everyone in Paris wants to celebrate France's recent victory in the Great War. Jazz clubs are overflowing with people eager to see stunning performances by none other than Black Americans. The city of lights shined brightly on Black performers, providing them with opportunities they could only dream of in America. For Frank Watson in Gwennie's Wedding Day his reality across the Atlantic is still tied to the wary of racism in America.
