How standardized tests were designed by racists and eugenicists

Resource added

Full description

This is a clip from an interview with Ibram X. Kendi, an author of two books about confronting racism in America. He describes the ways standardized tests like I.Q. tests and the SATs were designed to promote segregation. He uses the word "eugenics" and "eugenicists"--eugenics is a "science" that is based on the idea that certain - often racialized - traits should be encouraged or discouraged in the human population by controlling who reproduces with whom. Eugenicists are people who try to put into practice institutions and practices that control who reproduces with whom through measures like forced sterilization of those thought to have unattractive traits.
