Prize Amphora Showing a Chariot Race

This short video, created by The British Museum, shows a chariot race as depicted on a Greek amphora. British Museum curator Judith Swaddling explains that this was the only sport in the original Olympics that took place clothed. Up to 40 chariots would compete at once, and it is noted in the description of the video that chariot races happened to be the only Olympic sport women were able to take part in.
