Greek Amphora circa 530-540 BCE
This urn is one of many in the collections of the British Museum. It is possible Keats might have seen an urn much like this one, however, an acquisition date of 1836 by the British Museum makes it unlikely that Keats would have seen this particular urn, having passed in 1821. This image is nevertheless included because it depicts a scene much like the one Keats sketched out.
