Sight and Song by Michael Field
Full description
Michael Field was the pseudonym of two female co-writers and lovers who wrote together in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. They note in the preface to Sight and Song that “The aim of this little volume is, as far as may be, to translate into verse what the lines and colours of certain chosen pictures sing in themselves; to express not so much what these pictures are to the poet, but rather what poetry they objectively incarnate.”
