Milestones - delivering on features

Once you've scoped out the time to deliver, it's important to know what to deliver at intermediary points.

The word milestone comes from the idea of a stone at each mile to mark distance in a path. With project planning, this word is used to demarc a significant event or development.

Setting Milestones

Just in the process of writing an essay you have a few main points, when working on a project you need to set some intermediary goals.

This may be the SDLC phases. Or it could be more specific such as,

  • Writing out a list of features to code
  • Installing all necessary dependencies and software to begin coding
  • Code in several chunks with unit tests

Reviewing and Adjusting Milestones
