Notes on The Bill of Rights
- You are probably familiar with some, if not all. of the ten amendments that make up the Bill of Rights. Still, read them. You might be surprised by what you see.
- Excerpting this should be easy. Pick the Amendment you’re focusing on, and recite that. If you want to recite part of a law or legal decision about the amendment you choose, you can do that as well.
- This is a legal document, so when you recite a part of it, your voice should be formal, as if you’re a reporter or a narrator.
- Possible topics include court cases on any of the amendments, though the Third Amendment would be the most difficult, as there aren’t a lot of court cases or laws about it. The development of the Bill of Rights and the campaign to adopt it are also good topics.
- Here is the Resource Collection. This is not an exhaustive collection of resources, but it does give you a place to start.
