Canto V

Thursday

Thursday has arrived

My coffee is bitter

Burned, lifeless

Here you are not

When it is good it is good

But otherwise it’s reckless

I just want to jump to the next day

A reason to not be sad

Perhaps.

My heart screams:

“Come back to me!”

Calmly I reply:

“They can’t.”

This waiting around

It’s insane!

So much do I long for

another touch of your hand.

Time, my dear Time,

You are nothing but my enemy.

You have left me at the mercy

of my dear friend Wind.

She, whom from time to time visits me

and helps me embrace my Universe

Walks the streets. Do know, my love,

That when you feel the wind on your face,

It’s me running quickly to give you a kiss.

And if I can stay long enough

I will whisper in your ears:

“One more day and you will be mine again.”

Is Thursday over yet!

Time, my dear Time,

Bring me back to my

Universe’ arms again.
