We all have to manage the effort we put into our various commitments. Therefore, when planning a project, it’s important to think about how it fits into the rest of your schedule. The following questions should help you make a specific plan you can stick to, so you can follow through on your intentions.
What is your class schedule? Which classes do you feel tired after? Which classes do you feel energized after?
What days and times do you usually do your homework for other classes? How long does it typically take you to finish everything?
What clubs, sports, jobs and internships do you take part in? What is your schedule for these activities? How tired or energized are you after them?
When do you usually have free time? What do you do in your free time?
Of these other activities, which ones are more important to you than doing well in this class? Which are less important?
In two weeks, we’ll discuss the progress everyone has made on their projects. What do you think you can get done by then?
Based on your previous answers, come up with a schedule for when you’ll work on your project for this class. Think about when you’ll have energy, not just open time.

Do you anticipate any changes in your schedule later in the semester? What would they be, and how would they fit into your current schedule?
Please make a Google Doc or Google Slides deck and copy-paste your schedule into it. This way you’ll be able to edit it as we go forward. Share the document/slides with me, so I can see those changes and give advice. If you’re working in a group, share it with your group members as well. Change the formatting in any way you like.
