Introduction to Roman Numerals
You will encounter Roman numerals, and you may not be comfortable with them, so here is an overview.
“I" is the number “one”.
“V” is the number “five”.
“X” is the number “ten”.
“L” is the number “fifty”.
“C” is the number “one hundred”.
“D” is the number “five hundred”.
“M” is the number “one thousand”.
So, the number three would be “III”, and the number sixteen would be “XVI”.
However, you aren’t supposed to use the same symbol four times in a row, so the number four is “IV”, and fourteen is “XIV”.
