GUIDELINES FOR AUTHORS
Submission of contributions to Emerging Works in Diverian Linguistics is limited to subscribers to the journal.
All submissions should be accompanied, in a separate file, by a short written Summary (one paragraph or so in MS WORD or Google Docs format) indicating the purpose of the project and the gist of its content. It may also briefly describe the history of the project. This paragraph will be linked to the Table of Contents. It will be followed by a link (to be inserted by the Editor) to a source at which readers will access the article itself.
Written manuscripts should be submitted in two copies: one in MS WORD (or Google Docs) format; a second copy in .pdf format. Hyperlinks and objects may be embedded in the text. Readers will be able to access these by clicking on them. Both the article and the summary should begin with a centered heading containing the following information:
Title of article (with subtitle, if any)
Name of author
Date of submission (MM/DD/YYYY)
Author’s institutional affiliation is optional. Pagination will be internal to the article itself and will not be linked to other articles in the same volume. Submissions should contain a statement of author copyright.
Videos may be submitted in the form of links to You Tube or Vimeo. Those submitted in .mp4 or .mov format will be uploaded to a You Tube channel for viewing.
Audio files should be submitted in MP3, FLAC, WAV, OGG, or OGA format.
Spreadsheets should be submitted in MS Excel format.
Authors are responsible for proofreading their own submissions. The Editors will in general not do this work.
IMPORTANT: As mentioned above, the heading of every submission must include a date of submission. This date will be used to reference the article. Resubmissions and revised drafts must include a new, updated date of submission. Previous versions may be withdrawn, or archived.
If the author wishes to receive comments and suggestions privately, or from non-subscribers, an email address to which these comments are to be sent must be included. If the author wishes to allow subscribers to submit comments directly on the site for others to see, the author should indicate this permission explicitly.
